It finally happened...

That's right. Filming a stealth camp last night and I got woken up at 5am to my truck shaking as a flatbed tow truck was getting ready to take me away!

I sat up and waved out of my roof hatch at him - he definitely looked disappointed because he was about to lose out on the revenue, but he yelled "you can't park here bro!" and I said "Yeah yeah I'll move."

So, I got up and moved a few blocks down to an HEB parking lot where I stayed peacefully for the rest of the night.

Coincidentally I had just been reading about the law around towing last night and found out that its illegal to tow a car with someone inside...

Great news for all us boxers and van people! As long as you're in the vehicle and don't sleep through the tow, you can pretty much tell him you'll leave and there won't be any trouble. Keep in mind this is HOUSTON and the tow companies here are absolutely ruthless...

DISCLAIMER: Local laws may vary

Anyway...this will be a fun video to edit. Should be up in a few days!

POLL: Do you own a conversion?

I want to know where everyone's at with their own conversions/tiny homes.

Just Designed my First Box truck conversion in Fusion 360. So far I'm thinking about doing a Bed-lift/HappyJac system (obviously DIY), since I'm not going to have a bed in the moms attic I've decided to have that area for the batteries for my rig, not sure what else I'll put up there but its open for storage, I have 80 inches of kitchen with a 7cu-in fridge and a RecPro RV stove cutout in a 1.5in butcher block. other side I have a Desktop setup where my PC will sit and right beside that will be the wardrobe. Will be putting a stainless-steel shower in which is next to the fridge cutout. There still is a lot of open space that I'm still unsure on where to go with things but for a 5-hour cad session I think this is pretty good.

2022 Techno Barbarian Build Order Guide
I suffered so that you don't have to

This guide serves as an outline for what I see as the optimal build order for just about any mobile living platform. The purpose of writing this was to not only to take notes for myself and my next build, but give a jumping off point for people who are doing their own builds and may be overwhelmed or not know where to start.

Following this guide should minimize the pain you experience during your build by having to backtrack, fix mistakes, and also allow you to plan ahead with confidence.

As of Sept 2022 this is the order I would follow on my next build, but this is subject to evolve over time as I receive feedback and continue my own work.
